Bastien Phelps

Here's most of the stuff I've ever done without anyone else's help.

In case anyone is actually interested, the 1990s stuff was done using an Ensoniq ESQ1 and a drum machine, using the internal sequencers. The mid-period stuff saw the addition of a sampler and a PC for sequencing duties. The most recent stuff was done entirely in software (Orion in 2001/02/03 then the Tracktion from 2004 onward).

Also included here are the tracks I've entered in the monthly competiton over at KvRAudio. The rules stipulate a maximum length of two minutes and there is a monthly theme, so it is a really good way of getting over the writers block or can't-be-arsed thing and actually doing something (and hopefully improving my production skills in the process).

If anyone would like any of their tracks diddled about with to sound a bit like this stuff, please contact bastien-at-myselecta-dot-com.

*As in, do a cover of something by a band who've done a
Peel Session. I'm really quite proud of this one, actually.
**That'd be drums, then. Routed through reverbs and vocoders
and comb filters, as detailed in this rather confusing screen-grab.
